Fees & Rebates

What are the charges for assessment and treatment sessions?

The rates vary according to the specialist, as well as for therapy versus assessment. In order to receive a complete price list for all services please email or call us and we will send you the complete details.

Can I pay by Credit Card or EFTPOS?

The clinic locations all have credit card and EFTPOS facilities. Cash or cheque payments are also accepted. All our mental health professionals require that you pay the amount due at the end of each session, unless a prior arrangement has already been made.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

A Mental Healthcare Plan referral from a GP is not currently necessary to see Dr Jason Brown. This is because he does not have space at present to accept any new therapy clients. He is accepting a limited number of new assessment clients per month however. Referrals are also not needed in order to claim rebates or refunds from your private health insurance fund.

If you need to see one of our affiliated Consultant Psychiatrists, a referral from a GP will enable you to accept Medicare rebates.

Will my assessment & treatment costs be covered by my private insurance?

Clinical psychologists and consultant psychiatrists at the clinic are registered with a wide range of health funds. Check with your private health cover provider to see whether your package includes such cover, and how to make a claim.

Will my costs be covered by Medicare?

No Medicare rebates are currently available for new clients who want to see Dr Jason Brown for an assessment and/or therapy. This will change when he has space to accept new therapy patients. His current ongoing clients will continue to be eligible for Medicare rebates.

When Dr Brown has room to accept new therapy clients, a Medicare rebate for up to 10/20 individual clinical psychology sessions per calendar year will be available, plus an additional 10 group therapy sessions with a clinical psychologist per calendar year. IMPORTANTLY, Medicare does not provide rebates for neuropsychological assessment, including our 60 minute neuropsychological screening session. After the clinical psychologist has completed the assessment, you will be given advice as to whether you could benefit from meeting with one of our consultant psychiatrist’s.

Medicare rebates are available for consultant psychiatry sessions.
